Welcome to the Registrar General’s Department
The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) oversees civil, land & commercial registration in Trinidad & Tobago.
We maintain the national archive of births, adoptions, marriages and deaths from 1893; record land titles and maintain a register of companies/businesses.
We ensure that the administration of justice functions speedily, efficiently and effectively and provides reasonable access to justice for all persons irrespective of their means. We ensure that the island’s most vital occurrences are recorded and provide essential services to the entire population as required by the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
