Bailiff Committee

The Bailiff Committee is a multi-disciplinary Cabinet Appointed Committee operating under the aegis of the Attorney General and Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs (AGLA). It includes key stakeholders involved in Private Bailiff practice in Trinidad and Tobago. These include the AGLA, Registrar of the Supreme Court of Justice, Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LATT), Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (TTCIC), College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) and local Bailiff Associations namely, the Trinidad and Tobago Licensed Bailiffs Association and the Bailiffs Association of Trinidad and Tobago. The Committee is primarily responsible for the administration of the Bailiffs Act, Chap, 4:61, as well as other activities such as public education, consultation and law reform.
