ABOUTOUR VISION AND MISSIONPROCUREMENT SCHEDULE

As stewards of public funds, it is necessary for the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs to achieve the best value in procuring goods, services, and works.
Section 5 (1) of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act No. 1 of 2015, requires that the following general principles be given due consideration:

Principles:

  1. The principles of accountability, integrity, transparency, and value for money;
  2. Efficiency, fairness, equity and public confidence;
  3. To engage in intervention strategies to `fast track’ critical legal matters which are under the purview of the Civil Law Department, Law Reform Commission and Legislative Drafting Department;
  4. Local industry development, sustainable procurement, and sustainable development in public procurement and the disposal of public property.

The Procurement Unit of the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs will subscribe to the following Vision, Mission, and Values:

VISIONTo provide procurement services to the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs, with emphasis on the best value, while providing advice on procurement, organizational, and strategic issues, such as risk mitigation, cost, quality, and delivery, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and handbooks.


MISSION

The Procurement Unit operates to support the strategic objectives of the Ministry, and our services are focused on:

  1. Procuring, on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs, goods, works, and services,
  2. Retaining, maintaining, and distributing public property for use by Public Officers
  3. Disposing of surplus or unserviceable or obsolete public property

Procurement of goods, works, and services, will be done in compliance with all applicable laws, policies, regulations, and handbooks in the best interest of the country.
